On March 8th… The End of Jack Douglas

March 8, 1888: Holmes learned that Jack Douglas had been lost at sea. [VALL]

“No, I don’t say that,” said Holmes, and his eyes seemed to be looking far into the future. “I don’t say that he can’t be beat. But you must give me time – you must give me time!” We all sat in silence for some minutes, while those fateful eyes still strained to pierce the veil.

  1. Again I like your illustration better then the one I found. How do youy do it? Is there a secret stash? Thanks Chips

    1. No secret stash that I know of, but I do spend a lot of time searching Google for both personal and professional (life on the library Reference Desk!) reasons, so I’ve probably developed some skill at it.
