Happy Birthday Sir Ralph Richardson!

Born December 19, 1902, Richardson was a Shakespearian actor who worked with Lawrence Olivier. He played Doctor Watson in a radio production which featured Orson Welles as Professor Moriarty.

  1. I think he portrayed one of the best Watson’s. The relationship between he and Gielgud added to Holmes and Watson and Richardson gave Watson a rounded thought somewhat comedic character. I felt he carried these recordings.
